Dr. Wubliker Dessie, Ethiopian, male, born in 1985, PhD graduate (2014-2018) from Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing, China. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at the College of Chemistry and Bioengineering, Hunan University of Science and Engineering. Prior to this role, Dr. Wubliker held a faculty position at Mizan-Tepi University in Ethiopia, where he was engaged in teaching and research. He was appointed as the Head of the Department of Biology and participated in the curriculum development for higher institutions in Ethiopia. He has received research awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology of PR China (Young Foreign Talent Program), the Hunan Provincial People's Government (Talents in the Green Industry Chain), and the Hunan Academy of Forestry Sciences He also received full scholarship awards from Chinese and Indian Governments to pursue his doctorate and master’s degrees, respectively. Additionally, he has recently taken on the role of Technical Advisor for Delore Group since October 2023.
Research direction: His research interests include utilizing biomass resources via a novel integrated biorefinery approach that incorporates key concepts such as “circular economy,” “green technology,” and “zero-waste” to promote the bio-economy and a sustainable future.
Scientific research work: Dr. Wubliker has published several SCI papers in reputable journal including Bioresource Technology, Industrial Crops & Products, Environmental Technology & Innovation. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer for internationally well-known journals, further demonstrating his impact and influence in his field.
